Classroom Themes...

I'm sure you've thought about your classroom theme for the upcoming year--I know I have.  I'm stuck...I can't decide if I should just recycle something I've used before, or go different?  The last two years I haven't really had theme related decorations, but rather used the chocolate dot borders and then used the school theme as my classroom theme.  I really like my dot borders, but I've seen some other great things out there!

I remember as a first year teacher I totally got sucked into decorating.  I loved it!  Don't get me wrong, I still do, but I realize now that while it's the fun part of getting ready, I should put my efforts in things related more to what I will be teaching.

So, what's your theme for the 2012-2013 school year?

  1. Hi Sarah, our school's reading committee decided that we will be doing a red/white/blue, America, Reading Across America theme. They have left it up to each teacher to decided which direction to take it......I am not sure, really how I am going to approach it yet. I thought about the Olympics as well as Military themes. I am open to any ideas.
    Thanks

  2. Great site! I don't usually do a theme, but thanks to Pinterest I was inspired! I decided to do an Owl theme this year in my 7th and 8th grade Language Arts classes. I will be posting pics soon on my blog! http://mrswhite1103.blogspot.com

  3. You are right about the first year going crazy with decorating! I am going into my 6th year of teaching, and I'm FINALLY redecorating, and I'm having a blast. I don't have like an object theme, but I have a color theme. It's from Creative Teaching Press. I am in love, and I posted about it on my blog. Also, I just nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award. Check it out and enter to win my giveaway! http://www.nerdynerdynerdy.com/2012/07/blogger-awards-and-my-first-giveaway.html

  4. I am sticking to a color theme. I love using line green, blue and zebra print! Using those colors/patterns makes it easy to throw in some other colors here and there. It also makes the classroom bright and inviting.
